Durham City appoint Mulcaster

Durham City moved to appoint Northern League stalwart Peter Mulcaster as the replacement for Didier Agathe.

Mulcaster has years of Northern League experience and has taken charge at Crook Town, Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, Horden CW and Darlington Railway Athletic.

Rumours had swirled that Tom Wade, who had initially been announced as Agathe’s assistant, would take the post, but City announced Mulcaster as their man.

In addition to the Mulcaster appointment, City also announced new signings in the form of goalkeeper Niall Frampton from Sunderland RCA and midfielder Robert Ridley from Bedlington Terriers.

Mulcaster takes charge for the Halloween trip to Chester-Le-Street Town and will be hoping to hit the ground running with City sitting bottom with only one point from their opening 12 games.
